Solo shows

September 22 to
October 8, 2023
Peintures & Dessins, Switzerland
Galerie du Pressoir, Rue de Bassenges 21A, 1024 Ecublens (VD)

This show has been long in the making. While committees, management and other circumstances had changed due to Covid, it was already in 2021 that the discussions about this show began.
Slowly things began to pick up again, artists who had been booked came first ofcourse and finally, in 2023 it is Nature's Art that has returned to the familiar building: the old wine press  in Ecublens.

August 28 to
September 13, 2015
Luminosité (Juried Show), Switzerland
Galerie du Pressoir, Ecublens, www.galeriedupressoir.ch

This will be a solo exhibit within the walls of an old wine press where the farmers used to bring their grapes to the community press in the center of town during the fall harvest season. The old building is still completely intact and inside it has been beautifully renovated for shows and performances with respect to the wooden stairs, floors and high, beamed ceilings. The large committee has welcomed me so gently and pleasantly that I immediately felt at home with them and with the way they work. It will be a joy to exhibit there!

On September 6, at 5pm (17h00), within the series of 'Les concerts du dimanche' (The Sunday Concerts) Dominika Szlezynger will perform in a piano recital with music of Mozart, Chopin, Schubert, Rachmaninoff and Leoncavallo.

Opening  hours: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 16:00 - 19:00, or by appointment (see invitation by clicking on  the title of the show under Solo Shows). Vernissage: Friday, August 28, from 18:00 on. Come join us!

Art, Naturally The Aubonne Valley National Arboretum Invited Artist Switzerland
Chemin de Plan 92, Aubonne, Vaud

The Arboretum of the Aubonne Valley is a lovely place, righ in the center of the territory. People flock together to go on a day or afternoon hike, meet with other nature friends, have a bit to eat, or simply sit outside in the large patio, enjoying the peace and the stunning surroundings. Situated in the beginning foothills of the Jura mountains, the Arboretum is home to a wonderful variety of trees, shrubs and flowers and also has its own museum and meeting space, a beautifully designed wood structure with beautiful space and light, where the exhibitions, performances and meetings take place.

Botanic Organic New York City Invited Artist USA
The Ansonia Windows, New York City (Greenwich Village)

Having a show at the Ansonia Windows is both an honor and an adventure. With its windows facing 6th Avenue, there is not only a large audience passing by but a vast amount of traffic as well!  Paul Oratovsky, the curator, told me that I needed to wire-the-wires in the back with tape, with a small space in the middle for the hook, so the pieces would stay in place despite the trembling caused by traffic and subway.  I had to bring my pieces a day earlier than planned, due to a possible strike in public transportation. I'm glad I did, for sure enough, the whole town went flat the next morning, and the tunnels were closed! Paul offered to do the hanging and did a great job at that. My second show in the New York; there is truly no place like it.

Nature in the Garden Room Invited Artist USA
Nassau Gallery, Princeton, NJ

Several clients bought pieces from the elegant Naussau Gallery, in the center of Princeton. I also found many wonderful comments from people all over the world, who stayed at the Club's guest quarters. Princeton has a history of the Dutch Royal House of Orange Naussau, hence the name Nassau.

Fresh Flowers New York City Invited Artist USA
Franklin 54 Gallery, New York City (Tribeca)

Who would have thought that I would ever have a solo exhibit in New York City? Joyce Pommer, Director of the Franklink 54 Gallery in Tribeca opened her doors to my art and I wholeheartedly accepted her offer. Being a very accomplished and all-round artist herself of whom I own several pieces, it was wonderful to be part of her Gallery and to be working within her gentle and very professional approach. We instantly became friends.

The appreciation of the more than 1.700 visitors was high on average. Many visitors and exhibitors spontaneously gave us nice and positive feedback. About the rich variety of art and its presentations. About the quantity, versatility and quality of the artworks on display and the artists' stories and explanations. And certainly about the digital presentations.

The complete digital presentations can be found on Instagram and Facebook.

ARTBOXY A three months 2022 Sponsoring Award, Switzerland (Juried show)
Zug Switzerland

In June, July and August of 2022 I won three months of free virtual sponsoring from the Swiss ARTBOXY gallery project.

Even though physical representation makes for the best represantation, this opportunity allowed me to hang in various art galleries internationally at the same time:

My work hung at the Lelie Galerij in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, the Urban Side Gallery in Zurich, and the Thomson Gallery in Zug, both in Switzerland, as well as the ARTBOXY exhibition at their Venice, Biennale space in Italy, from June 1st - August 31, 2022.

"Remembering Holland" Moscow, RUSSIA (Juried show)
SABA Russia Horticultural Pavillion, Moscow (The Russian Society of Artists of Botanical Art)

The initiative of the Russian Society of Artists of Botanical Art, a "call for artists" went out t various international botanical associations, including the Dutch Association of Botanical Artists in the Netherlands (to which I belong).

The organization of this spring flower show was well underway when te Russion-Ukranian war broke out. As botanical art is non-political I decided to go ahead with it hoping that it would at least bring the audience a sense of calm and peace in that turbulant moment while they were enjoying the international collection in a beautiful environment.

"Nature" Invited Artist, Solo within group show, Switzerland
Rue du Valentin 32, Lausanne

A period of two weeks opened up right in the middle of the pandemic. No one had counted on it, so the Swiss Art Space called artists as soon as they knew it was ok to exhibit and people hurried to bring in their works of art.

Everybody was masked and this celebration had a special and moving effect on the audience. We were lucky.

'Drawing', the Sixth Edition at the Swiss Art Space Gallery, Lausanne, Switzerland
Rue du Valentin 32, 1004 Lausanne, Switzerland

As drawing is at the base of any and every piece of art or design, and is one of my favorite techniques, this was an exhibit at the Swiss Art Space that I have been hoping for.
A group of fourteen artists is involved in this Sixth Edition of 'Drawing' and I can't wait to see everybody's techniques and results.
The seven graphite pieces that I submitted were all selected for the show and in this month of Thanksgiving I am grateful for that.
It is my second exhibit with the Swiss Art Space this year and I hope to see those who are living in the area (or who happen to be stopping by..) at the vernissage on November 10, 18h30- 21h00.

Like last time, those who are interested in the list of submitted pieces: just let me know and I'll forward it to you.
Thanks and enjoy!

Chateau de Vullierens Open Days Botanical Exhibit, Vullierens, Vaud, Switzerland
1115 CH Vullierens, Switzerland www.jardinsdesiris.ch

Dear Friends,

Delighted was I with the invitation to  organize a botanical Art show during the September Open Days at Chateau de Vullierens.
I found two friends and co-members of the American Society of Botanical Artists, Janet Dwek and Marie-Christine Masson, enthusiastic to join me in this beautiful project in the September season at the GALERIE DU CHATEAU, where many roses and lilies are turning the Vullierens Gardens into a local fall paradise.

PLEASE NOTE: my website only allows for one uninterrupted period to indicate the date of this exhibit, BUT THIS SHOW TAKES PLACE ACROSS TWO LONG WEEKENDS:
SEPTEMBER 16, 17 and 18 and SEPTEMBER 22, 23, and 24. The venue is open daily from 10h00 to 16h00 DURING THOSE TWO WEEKENDS and there will be a demonstration in painting or drawing by one of us at 13h30 every open day.

Come join us in this lovely early Fall event!

AQUARELLE 2017, Switzerland
Rue du Valentin 32, 1004 Lausanne, Switzerland

For the first time I am participating in a show organized by the Swiss Art Platform. It is a juried show so I sent in six pieces for selection (water colors naturally, in this case), and they all got in! Needless to say that I am very happy about this first opportunity. The Swiss Art Space is an actively exhibiting Gallery that organizes different theme shows all the time for different art techniques. This particular show will be the 5th AQUARELLE event that they are organizing. The poster is not even out yet but I will post one as soon as it comes through. Stay tuned.

Few places are as exquisitely located as the Art Show of St. John on the Mountain. Literally on Bernards' Mountain it is tucked away under the trees, in the parish house of St. John on the Mountain church. The church houses the entire event, including the various receptions. The people who belong to the church are wonderful, hard working and always willing to help.
